How to set up the Internet in Windows 2000
Note: Your username and email address are the same. They are in the form
johndoe@fayetteville.net.

Click on the Start menu.

Click on Settings.

Click on Network and Dial Up Connections.

Open Make New Connection.

Click the Next button.

-
Choose Dial-up to the Internet.

Click the Next button.

Choose I want to set up my Internet Connection manually, or I want to connect
through a local area network (LAN).

Click the Next button.

Choose I connect through a phone line and a modem.
-
Click the Next button.

In the Telephone number box, enter the number of your dial-up POP. Click
here to
locate a POP near you.

Uncheck Use area code and dialing rules.

Click the Next button.

In the User name box, type your email address.
-
In the Password box, type your password.
-
Click the Next button.

-
In the Connection name box, type in your username.
-
Click the Next button.

-
Choose No.
-
Click the Next button.

Click the Next button.

If you wish to delete an old connection go on to step #24, otherwise go to step
#27.

Right click on the connection you want to delete
-
Click Delete from the context menu.

Click the Yes button.
